PASONA N A, INC. is Hiring a Junior Accountant Near Hackensack, NJ
A Japanese manufacturer & distributor is seeking a junior accountant in NJ.
The junior accounting will be responsible for performinggeneral accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
The ideal candidate must have more than 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, and Japanese language skills is a big plus but not necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Prepares periodic balance sheets, profit and loss statements and consolidated package.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedule.
- Assist in preparing income tax and sales tax returns
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Prepares periodic bookings, sales and related reports
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline, preferably working towards an accounting designation
- Ability to work independently with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
